2008 smokes by. It's amazing how time seems to go by much faster the older one gets. Years now just barrel on by without regard to how I feel about it. Damn time. At 41 things have started to look the way they did back when I was a child though. I find myself able to transpose imagery from my childhood memories onto things I observe recently. It also could relate to having Vincent and the feelings I am assailed with when we hang out. In fact, I have pretty much figured that what I am experiencing, has got to be tied into my becoming a father. |

The Lount family is moved. May have a bit more unpacking to do but essential stuff is in place and things feel pretty good. Vincent, our little critic, seems to really like it here. He likes stairs and while following, we allow him to climb them. No going down them for now. He loves he back yard as well as the front... he has discovered putting rocks (pebble size) in his mouth, so we have to keep a constant '3rd' eye on him. He has shaken the insecure bit off and everyday we watch his confidence grow and grow relating to his environment in different ways each and every time a new day begins. |

Not a lot posted lately as it's been more important to focus on other things. We are moving this week. Sellwood. Good move for us. Close to Sherret Square and all the funkiness of that area. I of course have ideas about pumping up the volume w/ regards to FSF and OpenSource, I'm such a fanboy. Getting a static addr finally, using EasyStreet as an ISP ( http://easystreet.com ), w/ the dread Qwest as a carrier. The Qwest call took forever and a day, but I secured a turn on by 5 PM the 29th. Computers seem to always be the last thing to move =). |

I now know what it means to enjoy a quiet evening. Since going on-call all the time, the last month has been the quietest. I have pushed some photos up to V-mans site, started a big full to rsync.net (never hurts to have off-sites), messed around with Python for a good chunk of time (inserting into lists is weird), and organized some music in Banshee. Quality evening. I feel sometimes like there is too much to do (sometimes there is) as I'm bringing work home and spending my child's childhood at a terminal... But I'm starting to realize it does even out. |

New hardware for the Drupal farm. New look for my blog, Vincent's site too. I picked up a decent machine from FreeGeek ( http://freegeek.org ) and spent last night building Apache and then today PostgreSQL, moving data etc... Cut the firewall over just now. Whee, new iron in he sandbox! |

We didn't go shopping yesterday, Black Friday. Made it the whole day even though Fry's was dangiling some pretty good deals out there. We were just talking about it, how tourists and Canadians made up the difference for some retailers. If the rest of the world wants the US to not be such a bleeding pain in the ass they need to stop coming here on Black Friday and shopping. If everyone would just stay the hell home we might get some say back in the process, but I see cheap shit and burning petro fuel to get it are more important than having a say in our future. Way to go team. |
